Ivan Garrido

Ivan Garrido, a native of Guam, has trained Brazilian Jiu-jitsu on and off since 2007.  As an active-duty member of the US Coast Guard, Ivan’s first duty station was in Honolulu, HI where he first started training BJJ. Through duty station assignments and deployments, he has been afforded to opportunity to train at numerous BJJ academies throughout the US and around the world. Ivan’s recent assignment to the Pacific Area Command in Alameda, CA in 2022 brought him to Rio Combat, where he was drawn to the welcoming atmosphere, exceptional training partners, and world-class instruction.  Ivan was awarded his black belt by Diogo Gomes in May 2024.
